Obituary for Hazel Marie Shankles Hazel Marie Shankles, 92 of Gentry, Arkansas, died January 4, 2019 at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab. Born May 13, 1926, in Teague, Texas, she was the daughter of Clifford Thompson and Dora Stroud Thompson. Hazel married Dawson Shankles on November 6, 1944.

She worked at Gentry Medical Center and was a member of the Gentry Christian Church. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dawson, brother Ralph Thompson, sister Modene Botter, step son Charles Shankles and step mother Jody Thompson. Survivors include son Jack Shankles and wife Bonnie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter Wanda Meyer and husband Robert of Gentry, Arkansas; daughter Shirley Thompson of Ringling, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2019 at First Christian Church, Gentry, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry, Arkansas. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
