Melvin Martin, 80, of Axton, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was a loving husband of 58 years, and he was Dad and Papa to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born October 29, 1938 to the late Clifton and Geneva Martin of Axton.

He is survived by Vivian, his loving wife of 58 years; one son, Jeff Martin of Axton; two daughters, Jennifer Motley (Dan) of Axton and Janice Ferguson (Tommy) of Ridgeway; one granddaughter; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren (and one on the way); and a brother, J.C. Martin (Barbara). He loved being with his family and watching baseball, football and was an avid bowler. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Rev.

Josh Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Lone Oak Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
