Melvin G. Fannin, Sr., 95, of Jacksonville, FL passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. He was born February 3, 1923 in Birmingham, AL to the late Grover H. and Melrose (Casey) Fannin. Melvin served our country honorably during WWII in the United States Navy for 5 years.

He then worked at NAS JAX for 26 years until retiring from Civil Service. After retirement, Melvin owned and managed real estate and worked as a home inspector. He was a faithful member of Riverside Presbyterian Church.

Melvin was preceded in death by his first wife of 67 years, Irene Fannin and is survived by his wife Peggy Fannin; son, Melvin G. Fannin, Jr. (Kathleen); grandchildren, Tim Fannin and Adam Fannin (Stephanie) and great-grandchildren, Kaley, Patrick, Keaton and Holden Fannin. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel with Rev. David Ball and Rev.

Dr. Steve Goyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00am until service time.
