Billy E. Veal, 82, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born November 23, 1935 in Coffee County, GA to the late Eston Lee and Cora (Fussell) Veal. Billy attended Westside International Church of God and Prophecy.

He work at Winn Dixie as a Meat Market Manager and retired after 47 years of dedicated service. Billy loved to fish and enjoyed being outdoors. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and joking personality.

Billy never knew a stranger and would talk to anyone he came in contact with. He had a tender heart who would give you the shirt off his back and his smile would light up the room. Billy will forever be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Veal and is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Myrtle Anderson Veal; children, Kay Zimpel (Mark), Tony Veal (Chris) and daughter-in-law Suzanne Veal; brothers, Kenneth Veal (Joan) and Hershel Veal (Lena); 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00am, Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel with Pastor Bruce Chivers officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Billy’s memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
