Obituary for Merle H. McClintock Merle Hadley McClintock 96, passed away July 23, 2018. Merle was born May 30, 1922, in Lamberton, MN, but spent most of his life in Farmington, MN, where his parents moved when he was a small child. During WW II Merle honorably served in the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bunker Hill, CV-17.

He married Rose Mary Rother of Vermillion, MN in 1946; he was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad and Amtrak as an engineer. Merle is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rose, parents Jesse O. & Clara (Moug) McClintock, brothers, Russell & Glenn and son-in-law David Sandberg. He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Sandberg, grandson Eric Sandberg and his wife Helen, brother Jesse Jr, sister Thelma Filibeck, great granddaughters Hannah & Bailey, in-laws LeRoy Rother, Bernice & Dean Falls, Mary (Eugene) Rother, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery 106 West Main St., Vermillion, MN. We wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Juniper Village and Avow Hospice for their loving and gentle care of our dad/grandfather. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Merle’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 660 Tamiami Trail N, #21, Naples, FL 34102 or Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Ln, Naples FL 34105, will be appreciated.
