Michael Alan “Buck” Lambert was born on June 21st 1966 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of Gary and Sally Lambert. Buck passed away suddenly from an unexpected heart attack on April 18, 2018.
Buck was raised in Roy and Hooper, Utah. He graduated from Roy High in 1984. He worked for CB&I the last 27 years.
As a child, Buck loved riding horses. He joined the Roy Jr. posse when he was just 7 years old. The first year he rode with them, he was selected to ride on teams and compete.
He competed in barrel racing, pole bending, the key hole race, and many other events. From ages 7-16 he rode with either the Roy Jr. posse or the Hooper Jr. posse. During those years he earned enough ribbons and trophies to fill a room.
Buck met the most beautiful girl, Nichole “Nicki” Jarvis when he was just 18. They were together many years and married on June 3, 1995. Nicki was his best friend and the love of his life.
Their children are Ashlee (Matt) Jones, Trevor (Nikki) Lambert, Tyson (Morgan) Lambert, and Michael Gary Lambert. They have six grandchildren that Buck adored. Shaelynn, Preston, Matthew, Dayson, Emree, and Hudson.
Buck also has one brother, Dusty Lambert. Buck was an amazing man that had so much love in his heart. His smile brightened the room he was in.
He was a friend to everyone. He was the “go to guy”. If anyone needed help, Buck was there.
All of his kid’s friends loved to hang out at Buck and Nicki’s house. They called Buck dad, and Nicki mom. Buck had a way of including everyone as a family member.
Buck coached baseball, basketball, and football for Roy Recreation for many years. The kids he coached became “his kids” too. Buck’s family and extended family were the most part of his life.
It seems he was always surround by kids and friends. This is what made him happy. Buck and Nicki always had an annual August camping trip to Southern Utah.
You guessed it, they were not alone, but invited everyone. Sometimes as many as 50 family, friends, and kids went along. Oh, and did I mention dogs….
many many dogs. What precious memories were built on these trips. Fishing, four wheeling, hiking, and sitting around the camp fire.
Buck absolutely loved to fish and hunt. Those were the best days for him. He taught all of his kids and grandkids the love of fishing and hunting.
He was so at peace in the outdoors. Tyson and Buck shared a very special hunting trip when Tyson drew out for the limited entry hunting expo for bull elk. This trip was the trip of a life time for Buck and Tyson.
The terrain was steep, the days were long, the weather didn’t always cooperate, but they never gave up. Tyson got his big elk on the last day of the hunt. They were exhausted, but at the same time exuberant.
Buck was so proud of Tyson and that Elk. Buck was proud of everyone of his kids and the wonderful spirit they all share. Seeing Buck fish with his grandchildren was the best.
He loved teaching them and bragging about the big fish they caught. He smiled his biggest when one of the little ones would pull in their catch. Fishing, hunting, and camping are what the Lambert’s are all about.
The love shared and the memories built doing these things will continue on. Buck’s father-in-law, Kenny Jarvis always told his kids and Buck to “Pass it on”. The kindness, the love, the togetherness, these are the things that were passed on from Kenny, to Buck, and now it is Buck’s children that will “Pass it on”.
This is the legacy that Buck leaves behind. Buck and Nicki bought their dream home in Henefer, Utah just two years ago. They chose Henefer for the friendly people and easy access to all the outdoor activities they loved.
Buck especially loved the flag that the city placed on the hill. It was the last thing he looked at in the evening, and the first thing he looked at in the morning. It filled his heart with joy and was a constant reminder of the great Country he lived in.
Thank you Henefer for giving Buck that joy. Nicki always said Buck was her foundation. He will never be replaced or forgotten.

Buck was preceded in death by his father Gary Lambert, his father-in-law Kenny Jarvis, and his son-in-law Preston Mascarenas. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11 am at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may visit family on Thursday, April 26 from 6 to 8 pm and Friday, April 27 from 9:30 – 10:30 am at the mortuary. Interment will be at the Henefer Cemetery.
