Michael Allen Bauer Sr. February 5, 1949 – November 23, 2018 Michael A. Bauer Sr. February 5, 1949 – November 23, 2018 Michael A. Bauer Sr., 69, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018, surrounded by his family. Michael was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on February 5, 1949; son of Wayne A. and Dorothy M. (Pickett) Bauer and grew up in the Rockford area. Michael was employed in the trucking industry with Silver Arrow Express of Rockford and most recently worked with his special cousin, Gary Pickett at Gary’s Auto Sales.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army, full time and reserves. Michael was a hardcore Chicago Cubs fan since childhood. He was a family man who loved his family and was loved by his family, including his second family at Alden Debes Nursing Care, where he lived from 2011 until he passed.

Michael is survived by his children, Michael Bauer Jr (Stephanie) and Jennifer Bauer; grandson Nicholas Bauer; siblings, Patricia Bauer Sanchez, Wayne (Chris) Bauer Jr, Richard (Myra) Bauer, Kevin Bauer, Lisa Bauer, Laura Bauer Vance, and Kenneth Bauer; special cousins, Mark (Danielle) Pickett, Earl (Letti) Pickett, Cheryl (Jay) Henderson, Rick (Dolly) Pickett, Cindy (George) Allen, Karen Boardman, and Allen Husker. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother David Bauer, grandson Junior Cervanta Bauer, special cousin Gary Pickett (Norberta), and special cousin Christine Norton. Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday November 28, at Julian Poorman Welte Funeral Home.
