Michael E. Maier, 67 of Normal, IL, passed away at 5:50 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2019, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. He was born in Carmi, IL on March 20, 1951, the son of Robert Eugene “Sug” and Maxine (ton) Maier. Michael retired from the Illinois Farm Bureau in Bloomington where he worked as a radio announcer.

He loved his family above all and shared many happy times with family and grandchildren. He is survived by his companion, Mardi Small, of Normal; daughter, Sydney Maier, of Chicago, IL; son, Jordan Maier, of Chicago, IL; brother, Monte D. (Joyce) Maier, of Jasper, IN; and ex wife and friend Max Shipen-Maier. In keeping with Michael’s wishes, cremation rites will be performed with private burial in Stokes Chapel Cemetery near Crossville.

Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
