Obituary for Michael Matthew Yugovich Michael Matthew Yugovich, 73, of Gurnee, IL passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at his home. He was born in New York City on January 21, 1945. Michael’s greatest passion in life was classical piano.

His life’s work was writing a biography of the pianist Franz Liszt. He was a high school history teacher in Mundelein, where he also worked as a tennis and chess coach. Michael enjoyed tennis, was an avid Cubs fan, and was a friend to all animals, especially his pets and his backyard creatures.

Above all, he was a dedicated husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Inge, and by his children Nicole (Dave Hernandez) Yugovich and Michael J. Yugovich. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Julia Yugovich.
