Michael P. Scholler, age 84, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Grove at Oak Leaf Village in Sylvania Township. He was born November 28, 1933 in Columbus, OH to Theodore Louis and Mary Marguerite (McLain) Scholler. Mike was a 1951 graduate of Troy High School and graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1956 with a degree in business.

He entered a partnership at Myers fireplaces and later became the sole proprietor of Myers Fireplaces and Patios, Inc., which is a successful business still in operation. He established MS Distributors in the early 1970’s and grew the company to include various product lines across multiple states. His contagious love for Ohio State and Ohio State football was passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Mike’s true joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who he adored. Another passion of Mike’s was riding motorcycles and he had countless adventures riding throughout the country. One of those adventures even included hitting a moose three miles from his vacation home in Montana.

Mike was a gracious and generous host, always willing to share his vacation homes in Montana and Florida. He liked a good cigar and cocktail at the end of the day while enjoying his surroundings with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Renee; son, Trent (Beverly) Scholler and their children, Steven, Eric and Maria; daughter, Tara (Kirk) Schenk and their children, Madalyn, Katie and Kara; daughter, Rachel (Doug) Blake and their children, Jessica (and her son, Cameron), Michael, Stephen (fiancée Anna) and Alexa; son, Philip Scholler and sons, Jayce and James; sister, Linda (Kevin) McCrone; mother-in-law, Lucille Speier; brother-in-law, Greg “Pancho” (Deb) Speier and Chris (Susie) Speier; numerous nieces and nephews; and Daniel Jackson (whom Mike thought of as a third son).

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia and brother-in-law Robert Trubee; father-in-law, Thad Speier. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 4-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey rd) where services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday.

Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. Renee would like to thank Merle Higdon for all her love and support. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Leading Family Home , formerly Beach House, at lfhtoledo.org.
