Michael Rodney Ramsey, 66, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 2, 1952. He is the eldest of four children born to Betty Ramsey. Michael attended schools in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Manuel High School in 1971.

While in high school and at the age of 16, Michael began bowling. He carried this sport interest for eight plus years, while serving in the United States Army. He joined the Army in 1975.

While in the Army, it was not uncommon for him to participate in several leagues and compete in considerable tournament action. In 1979, the National Amateur Bowler Inc., offered him the position of Shipping and Receiving Clerk or otherwise known as NABI. In 1984, Michael was promoted to Office Manager for NABI, citing his great work ethic and providing stability to the office structure.

His duties expanded in working with: Area tournament directors, coordinating the NABI secretarial staff, handling requests and calls from members and running the NABI shipping department. Eventually, he was promoted to National Tournament Director and was instrumental in expanding the club from California to New York with over 50, 000 members. Michael was one of the best bowlers in the National Amateur’s Bowlers corporation.

He dedicated over thirty years of his life to this sport and his profession. Michael was a devoted father, brother, friend and a great co-worker and a hard worker. Michael was the recipient of many awards, including the 300 perfect game and 800 bowling series achievement.

Michael led his team to win league championships and many tournaments. In the 1980s, Michael founded the A-1 Monogram and Embroidery business. He provided monogram services for various clothing outlets which served all league bowlers.

Michael leaves to mourn four children: Michael Adarrell Ramsey (Tameka), Kalamazzo, MI, Ebony Marie Ramsey, St. Louis, Mo. , Felicia Michelle Ramsey and Ashley Paige Ramsey both of Kansas City, Mo; one sister Sharon Ramsey of Kansas City, Mo; two brothers Dwayne Ramsey (Rena) and William Ramsey (Kimberly); five grandchildren, Zakiya, Michael, Brooklynn, Jonathan and Ava with a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M .

Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ 1231 Garfield Avenue KCMO 64127. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment 12:30 P.M. Monday, March 25, 2019 in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
