Following the war, she married her husband of over 40 years, Joe W. Burleson, a United States Army officer stationed in Paris, immigrated to the United States, and became a United States citizen. Upon her husband’s retirement from the Army, they settled in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and made that her home for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Burleson.

She was always the “cool mom”, who kids enjoyed being around.
