Obituary for Mick Carter Milford Roy “Mick” Carter Milford Roy “Mick” Carter, age 66, of Castle Dale, UT, our beloved soldier, “Big Brother”, uncle, father, and grandfather, born on his parents first wedding anniversay, Tuesday, 24 June 1952 in Provo, Utah to parents A rvil Donald Carter Sr. and Vivian Lorraine “Rene” Depew. Mick peaceably closed hi s eyes and returned to his heavenly home on his mother’s birthday, Monday, October 1, 2018. Mick, the oldest child of nine children md.
Maryann Jensen, divorced, Joree A. Thome, divorced, and Ruanda J. Shepherd, divorced. He has two daughters Amie (LaMonte R.) Charlton and Miranda (Ashton R.) Snelgrove and 2 granddaughters, Chloe Steidel, and Fiona Dwire. Mick enlisted in the Utah Special Forces on 24 March 1970 and earned his “wings” as a Paratrooper in July 1973.
He became a qualified Jump Master Parachutist in the United States Army National Guard. He proudly served as a Green Beret and a Radio Operator. He was Honorably discharged in March 1977.
He reenlisted in the United States Army in 1980 and he served in Germany when the Berlin wall came down and in the Southwest Asia-Desert Storm/Desert Shield theater in 1991. He served as a Legal Clerk in the 709th Military Police Battalion and became a Legal Specialist and Clerk in Criminal Law Branch of the Corps. He received many meritious comendations and the good conduct medal and high praise for his legal work.
Again, Honorably discharged in 1993. In his civillian life he worked for a while as a police oficer and on construction jobs as a carpenter and a laborer. He is preceeded in death by his parents, and sister Karen Ruby Carter Sanders MacDonald.
Survivors include daughters Amie Charlton and Miranda Snelgrove, grandddaughters, Chloe Steidel, and Fiona Dwire, all of Salt Lake County, UT, 2 brothers and 5 sisters, Don Carter, Pompton Plains, New Jersey, Edde Carter, West Jordan, UT, Linda (Gary) Takis, Van Couver, WA, Donna (Robert) Homer, Emery, UT, Jean Thompson, Bountiful, UT, Lucinda Carter, Kearns, UT, Sharon Hicks, West Jordan, UT, and numerous nieces and nephews and all above he dearly loved and spoke of often. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 10:00 am a Viewing will be held previous to the funeral service at Camp Williams Utah Veteran’s Cemetery and Memorial Park Military Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am.
At 12:30 pm Military Honors will be held at the Graveside. Camp Williams is located at 17111 So. Camp Williams Rd.
