Obituary for Pamela Jane Westphal Pamela Jane Westphal, age 53, passed away on November 24, 2018, at Huntsman Cancer Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 29, 1964, to Arnold Frank Westphal and Bonnie Beauregard Westphal in Salt Lake City. Pam was the youngest child of four.

Her childhood was happy. Her favorite memories were listening to the radio, shopping at the grocery store once a month with her mom. Pam loved helping her mom make cakes.

She enjoyed celebrating birthdays and inviting friends over, especially her lifelong friend, Jane Reynolds. Pam was a true and loyal friend. Pam had a sweet and humble heart and reached out to those in need.

Her favorite thing was to go to Uncle LeR’s for Christmas with the whole family and all the cousins. Her favorite color was purple. She loved elementary school, but Junior High was difficult, and she struggled with math.

Pam was always a hard worker. At age 14 her first job was as a baker’s helper for Granite School District and her second job was at Miniature Market. Pam enjoyed working at a day care for 5 years, so she could take her son, Isaac, while working.

She worked for Community Action with the CEDA program answering phones. She worked for the University Hospital as a physical therapy aid, the Belgian Waffle House as a waitress, Holy Cross Hospital in housekeeping, Mattress Company, and Precision Technology. Pam and Joe Hernandez had two sons, Jeremy and Isaac.

She was loved by her sons whom she adored. Pam’s life was miraculously blessed by her earthly angel, Diana Miller. Dianna provided Pam compassionate care, genuine friendship and a loving home for the last ten years.

Dianna’s children thought of Pam as a second grandma. Pam formed a special bond with Diana’s daughter, Ashley, and became affectionally known as an aunt to Ashley’s ’s boys, Thomas and Eli. Thanks to Joe for the loving care he gave Pam this last year.

Thanks to the nurses and doctors and hospice care at Huntsman Cancer Hospital for their care and support. Pam is survived by her sister, Valerie, her two sons and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, brother Phillip, and sister Patti.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 1, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Whittier Chapel, 1515 South 200 East, Salt Lake City, Utah.
