Obituary for Milburn Lewis Mathews Milburn Lewis Mathews, age 82, of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Tabernacle Church, of Sweetwater, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from the Sweetwater Utilities Board. Preceded in death by his parents: Ben and Mary Hastings Mathews, Sr., siblings: Ben Mathews, Jr., Robert Mathews, and Katherine Pope.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: April and Tommy Ingram, sons and daughters-in-law: Bryan and Karen Mathews, Barry and Maria Mathews, Terry and Jennifer Mathews, Tracy and Stacey Mathews, grandchildren: Lindsey and Brad Abernathy, Megan and Bryan Hurst, Macy Mathews, Morgan and Justin Phillips, Payton, Kennedy, and Maddie Mathews, Cody Mathews, Tenslee Mathews, Tevis Atkins, great-grandchildren: Tenleigh Lewis, Ryder and Gunner Phillips, Selah Hurst, twin sister: Mildred Kyker, several nieces and nephews. A special thank you is extended to the staff of Sweetwater Nursing Center and Sweetwater Hospital Nurses and Dr. Chris Shamblin for the compassion and dedication shown to our family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 5:00 P.M. until 7: 00 P.M. Family and friends will meet at Sweetwater Memorial Park on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. for a graveside service and interment with full military honors, Pastor: Johnny Carr and Dr. Gerald Atkins officiating.
