Obituary for Lila Esther (Bentley) Phelps Lila Esther (Bentley) Phelps, age 79 of Sweetwater, passed away at Sweetwater Hospital on Sunday, June 10, 2018 surrounded by her family. Lila attended Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church and Sweetwater First Assembly of God. She was the greatest woman and our Hero.

She was a foster parent to many children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Phelps, son, John Phelps, parents, Myron and Arleen Bentley, grandchildren, Scott Phelps, Crystal Walters and Alex Walters, six brothers and two sisters. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Kenneth Phelps Jr. of Springfield, MA, Myron Phelps of Chicopee, MA, Kevin Phelps of Madisonville, TN, Daniel Phelps of Madisonville, TN, James and Laurie Phelps of Southwick, MA, Wayne and Marcy Phelps of Sweetwater, TN Daughters and son-in-law: Pamela Meyer of Agawam, MA, Dawn and Chris Letterman of Philadelphia, TN.

Twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. Brothers: Mike and Junior Bentley Sisters: Velma Phelps and Bonnie Chmielewski. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the Sweetwater Memory Chapel, funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM with Rev.
