Obituary for Tommy Thompson Tommy Thompson, 88, passed away July 13, 2018. He was an awesome husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and role model, born in Wilson County, TN during the Great Depression. He was a retired truck driver from Roadway Express after more than 25 years of service, enjoyed camping and excelled at woodworking.

He was a member of the Three Rivers Antique Tractor Club. He loved to tell stories and reveled in practical jokes. He was dedicated to Church, Family, Country and Friends.

Tommy was a member and former Elder of Youngs Chapel Church for more than 60 years and served during the Korean War protecting the coast of the Korean peninsula aboard the USS Stickell. He leaves many fond memories to ease his loss. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Howard and Arletta Thompson, sister and brother-in-law Ann and Herb McCoy, sister-in-law Joyce Morgan and wife of 63 years Ada Frank Thompson who passed away July 2, 2018.

Tommy and Ada were unique individuals but one team now united again. He is survived by sons Turney (Sue), Terry (Marge) and Tim (Ruth) Thompson; sister Vickie Thompson, brother and sister in laws Boyd (Joyce) Woody and brother-in-law Junior Morgan; grandchildren and pallbearers- Gabe, Anna, Kayla, Woody, Tyler and Emily Thompson, Tim and Sydney Thompson and Zach Zeigler; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff of Jamestowne Assisted Living for its special care and love for Dad.

The family will receive friends Monday July 16th from Noon until 2pm at Young’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Fellowship Hall on Lawnville Road in Kingston with the funeral service to follow immediately thereafter. A Military Burial will follow at Kingston Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Young’s Chapel Church Building Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
