Obituary for George Clinton Johnson George Clinton Johnson, age 87, of Sweetwater, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 24, 2018, at his home. He was born September 12, 1931. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sweetwater, the Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #292 F&AM, the Sweetwater Odd Fellows Lodge # 280, and the Sweetwater American Legions Post # 106.
Mr. Johnson was a well- known painter in the Sweetwater area and a friend too many, also a Korean War Veteran. Preceded in death by his late wife: JoAnn Johnson, parents: Tom and Edith Johnson. Survivors include his wife: Lynette N. Johnson, of Sweetwater, children: Cheryl Plemons, of FL, Lowry Johnson, of Nashville, Lisa Garrett of Sweetwater, Joe and Rachel Johnson, Jamey Johnson all of Suwannee, TN, Nikki Plemons, of Sweetwater, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, step-children: Scobey Newman, of Hixson, Scott and Beth Newman, of Athens, Kevin and Pam Newman, of Sweetwater, 6 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, sisters: Cora Lee Thomas, of OH.
, Louise and Eddie Brabson, of Talbot, TN. , several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 5:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. with a Masonic service to follow at 6:45 P.M. the funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. in Kyker Chapel with Rev.
Carl Oakes, Rev. Ron Fisher, and Rev. Clayton Dunsmore officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday morning in the West View Cemetery with honors provided by the Sweetwater V.F.W. Post 5156, Members of the Monroe County D.A.V.
