Obituary for Beatrice “Bea” Wise Beatrice “Bea” Wise of Kingston, TN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 1, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born on July 7, 1928 at Honaker, KY to Grant Akers and Opal Marie (Hall) Akers. Bea was preceded in death by her husband Carl Garfield Wise, her parents Grant and Opal Akers, brothers James Garneve and Kenneth Howard Akers, and her son Skip Karlton Parson.
She is survived by her beloved sisters Rhodean Ann Bryant and Glenna Sue Collins of Kingston, TN and their families; her children Jimmy Staton Wise of Richmond, KY, Glenda Dean Bingham of Kingston, Charly Ann (Wise) Sholty of Prestonsburg, KY and Grant Taylor Wise of Suwanee, GA; seven grandchildren, who think she hung the moon, Shonna (Bingham) Radford, Bennett Parson, Christie (Bingham) Leitnaker, Shirley (Wise) Willis, Richard (Ricky) Parson, Tayler Wise and Paige Wise; seven great-grandchildren, Nichole Thompson, Jordan Radford, Darby Parson, Sawyer Radford, David Leitnaker, Alexandria Willis and Aidan Parson; three great-great-grandchildren Iliana , Malaki and Zion Medley of Tampa, Florida. Bea, along with her husband, owned and ran the Wise Steak House in Prestonsburg. KY.
This is where she learned her fabulous culinary skills. Those culinary skills paired with her amazing garden made everyone want an invite to dinner. Ms. Bea always made everyone feel like they were at home; even those who were not invited enjoyed her generosity.
Bea was a member of the Salem Baptist Church where she always said she spent some of the happiest days of her life. Brother Ted Clower is not only the Pastor of Salem, but also her best friend. Bea was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend!
We are all truly blessed and richer for having had her in our lives. A life well spent. Her memory will forever be in our hearts.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Roane Medical Center, the hospitalist’s, and nurses there, her primary doctor, Miriam Tedder, Cardiologist, Wendell Lawson their staffs, and her home health workers from Amedices, along with the many acts of kindness from relatives and friends. A very special thanks to her special friend, Linda Wolfenbarger. The family will receive friends at Kyker Funeral Home, 350 Race Street, Kingston TN on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Her funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Salem Baptist Church, 1212 Salem Valley Road, Ten Mile, TN, with Brother Ted Clower officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at the Kingston Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, Ms. Bea would like donations to be made to the Salem Baptist Church Youth Group, 1212 Salem Valley Road, Ten Mile, TN 37880.
