Julia L Judy Adkisson, February 12, 1923 — October 27, 2018

Obituary for Julia L. “Judy” Adkisson Julia Liming Adkisson, age 95, of Maryville, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at her home in Maryville, TN. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church. She was born February 12, 1923, in Wabash, Arkansas.

She grew up in Wabash and Elaine, Arkansas, and graduated from Elaine High School in 1941. After graduating from high school she began working at Western Union in Helena and Marianna, Arkansas where she met her husband who was stationed at Helena Aero Tech during WWII. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Charles W. Adkisson, Jr. of Maryville, parents John and Mamie Liming, step mother Thelma Liming, sister Mildred Sallis (Horace) all of Helena, sister Hildred Cate (Lawrence) of Knoxville, and sister-in-law Mildred Wood (Garland) of Harriman.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Moore (Robert) of Birmingham, AL, sons Thomas Adkisson (Rosemary) of High Point, NC and Michael Adkisson (Wanda) of Charlotte, NC, two granddaughters Caroline Adkisson Beglin (Brian) of Waxhaw, NC. , and Elizabeth Adkisson Cairo (Mario) of Brooklyn, NY. ; three grandsons, Charles Adkisson (Dustin) of New York, NY.

, Patrick Adkisson (Liz) of Matthews, NC. , and John Adkisson (Michele) of Indian Land, SC. ; great-grandsons Travis and Nathan Beglin of Waxhaw, NC; great granddaughters Holly Rose Beglin of Waxhaw, NC.

and Ava Elizabeth Adkisson of Matthews, NC; and sister Sandra Murphy (Olen) of Crosby, TX. Family and friends will meet at Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman on Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. to go in procession to Roane Memorial Gardens for a Graveside Service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Ray officiating.
