Obituary for Josephine Elaine (Turechek) Farr Josephine Elaine (Turechek) Farr age 96 of Kingston passed away Wednesday July 5, 2018 as the result of a car accident. Josephine had been a member of the Kingston community for more than 32 years. She was born Josephine Turechek on the plains of Nebraska in 1922 where she grew up on a farm with her parents and 3 brothers.

Her family at one time lived in a sod house and she rode a horse to school. She graduated from Chadron High School and attended business college before becoming a secretary in Washington, DC supporting the war effort during WWII. In 1949, she married John Farr from Banks O’Dee, Maryland, who worked for Massman Construction.

John and Josephine raised 3 children while moving cross country following the construction work before retiring to Kingston, Tenn. Josephine enjoyed painting, gardening and sewing. She is survived by: Sons: John Farr and wife Sue of Maryland Richard Farr and wife Janice Daughter: Ellen Young and husband Greg Grandchildren: Wendy, Rachel, Rebekah, Amy, Ian and Erica Great Grandchildren: Kate, Colton, James and Elliot Funeral 1pm Tuesday September 11, 2018 in the Kyker Chapel.
