Obituary for Ada Frank Woody Thompson Ada Frank Woody Thompson, 84 ,of Kingston passed away July 2, 2018. She was an awesome wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and role model, raised “South of the River” during the Great Depression, excelled at basketball, devoted to Church, dedicated to family, faithful with friends, contributor to the Cold War effort at ORNL and staunch fan of the Braves, Cowboys and Vols. She leaves big shoes to fill but fond memories to help.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Zella Woody, step-mom Audrey Woody and sister, Joyce Morgan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lillard “Tommy” Thompson; sons Turney (Sue), Terry (Marge) and Tim (Ruth) Thompson; brother Boyd (Joyce) Woody and brother-in-law Junior Morgan; grandchildren and pallbearers- Gabe, Anna, Kayla, Woody, Tyler and Emily Thompson; honorary pallbearers- Tim and Sydney Thompson and Zach Zeigler; several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, July 6th from 10am until noon at Young’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Fellowship Hall on Lawnville Road in Kingston with the funeral service to follow immediately thereafter.

Burial will follow at Kingston Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Young’s Chapel Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ada Frank Woody Thompson please visit our Sympathy Store.
