OBITUARY Mildred L. Allen July 6, 1925 – October 20, 2018 Mildred Louise Allen, 93, of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 6, 1925 in Cave City, AR, the daughter of Alvis and Virginia (Bray) Perkey. Mildred graduated from high school and went on to marry the love of her life, Robert P. Allen on January 8, 1944 in Cave City, AR.

She worked her way up in the banking world, starting as a teller and retiring as a supervisor at Park State Bank, now known as PNC Bank. Family was everything to Mildred even up until her final days. She adored her family and always wanted to know what was happening in everyone’s lives.

Mildred enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She and Robert loved traveling, and this was something she continued to do even after losing Robert. Mildred was the matriarch of our family and will truly be missed.

Mildred is leaving an amazing legacy of love and kindness, she always said “Be kind to everyone and they will be kind to you”. Mildred is loved and missed by her children, Sandy Allen, Vicki (Roger) Frizzell, and Kay (Terry) Baker; grandchildren, Jason (Holly) Frizzell, Shawn (Kim) Svatos, Ryan (Lindsey) Svatos, and Lindsay (Andy) Miller; great-grandchildren, Alayni Frizzell, Aidan Frizzell, Riece Miller, Sawyer Miller, and Preston Svatos; as well as nephews, Gary Perkey, Mike Perkey, and Karl Frost. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, brother, John Perkey, and nephew, Greg Perkey.

A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL, 61115. Funeral Service will be private. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
