OBITUARY Sandra L. Hoppock March 10, 1954 – September 28, 2018 Sandra L. Hoppock Sandra was born March 10, 1954 in Rockford Illinois, Daughter of Constance and Albert Hendershott. Sandra spent her life enjoying time with her family, learning new hobbies, and sharing her talents with those she loved. She was a member of a local quilting group where she would donate her work to those in need.

She was a talented jewelry maker, quilter, and enjoyed anything hands-on crafting. Her family remembers Sandra’s love for the holidays. Sandra would make pins for all the women in the family every Fourth of July and would be able to tell you on any given moment how many days there were until Christmas.

Sandra married the love of her life David Hoppock on November, 22, 1982. They spent nearly 36 years together in marriage. The two spent numerous family vacations on cruises together, the most recent being a thirteen day Mediterranean cruise where they saw The Vatican, The leaning tower of Pisa, and made lasting memories with their family.

She is survived by her husband David, her first husband, Steven Thomas; Sandy and Steven’s children, Dennis Thomas, Daniel Thomas, and her and David’s children, Heather Wilson, and Michelle Layne; siblings, Lynn (Joseph) Getter, Patricia Hendershott, Karoll (Richard) Thomas, and Thomas Hendershott. She is also survived by her 12 loving grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Constance and Albert Hendershott, and her Mother and Father in Law.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with Rev. Charles Waggoner officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family.
