OBITUARY Stephen A. Cerutti February 15, 1943 – November 19, 2018 Stephen A. Cerutti, 75, of Lake Villa (formerly of Rockford) passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at his residence. Stephen was born in Rockford on February 15, 1943, the son of Alfred and Evelyn (Truax) Cerutti. Stephen married Shirley Jarmotz on September 25, 1982.

Stephen was a graduate of St. James Grade School and St. Thomas High School both in Rockford. He graduated from DeVry University in Chicago. Stephen was a member of Electrical Workers Local Union #364 and worked for Ballard Inc. for 37 years.

He loved water skiing, Chicago sports, racing and entertaining family and friends. He was show director of the Ski Broncs Team when they won nationals. Stephen was a veteran of the U. S. Army and member of Flatlander’s Muskie Club.

Stephen is survived by his sons: Eric (Christine) Schmitt and Darren (Marisa) Schmitt; grandchildren: Bobby Schmitt, Bennett Schmitt, Chloe Schmitt and Jack Schmitt; brothers David (Kathleen) Cerutti and Mark (Laura) Cerutti; two nieces Gemma and Hannah Cerutti; one nephew Matthew Cerutti; special friends: Violetta Whiting, Duane (Cira Lynn) Nichols and Tom Pellant. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Evelyn, wife Shirley. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church 428 N. 2nd St. in Rockford; visitation will be at the church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Cremation rites will be accorded after services. Entombment will be at a later date with Military Honors at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
