Obituary for Millie Christine La Force Millie Christine La Force July 17, 1934-September 2, 2018 Millie Christine La Force, a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister was called home by her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 2, 2018, in Austin, Texas at the age of 84 years. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life service will be held at Mission Park South in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Mission Park South cemetery.
On July 17, 1934, Christine was born to Mose and Millie Eilenberger in McCoy, Texas, in which she was the youngest of 11 siblings. Christine moved to the city of San Antonio, where she met her husband, Edgar. They married on June 12, 1955, just four months after meeting, and recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Christine gave birth to three girls: Linda, Cynthia, and Sandra who continue to love and admire her deeply. Edgar and Christine stayed in San Antonio until retirement in 1992 when they moved to Kingsland, Texas. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Christine recognized her charm immediately.
She always had a radiant smile that complimented her beautiful blue eyes. Despite being legally blind at an early age, she lived life robustly. She enjoyed playing the piano, guitar, and could even hum a bit on the harmonica.
Christine could catch the attention of the room in an instant with her joyful charisma and voice. Her passion for the Lord led her to be a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church: where she played the piano, taught Sunday School, participated in the Women’s Ministries, and brought joy to local nursing home residents through her music. After moving to Kingsland, she became a member of First Assembly of God Church in Marble Falls.
Christine touched so many lives of those who have come to know her. She was a true representation of a Proverbs 31 woman: ‘Her children arise and call her blessed, her husband also and he praises her: “Many women do noble things but you surpass them all”. ’ Christine’s legacy will be her strength, kindness and pure love for God and her family.
That legacy will continue to inspire her surviving family members who love her dearly: husband, Edgar La Force; daughters, Linda Gail Gutierrez and husband Javier, Cynthia Ann Roepke and husband Jimmie, and Sandra Kay Gonzales and husband Mark; grandchildren, Tonya Wyatt and husband Shaun, Cheyne Gutierrez and wife Keisha, Destiny Carr and husband Steven, Krystal LaForce, and Meghan White and husband Christopher; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and sister, Ruby White. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Millie Eilenberger; sisters: Mary Harris, Lucille Coleman, Hazel Dockary, and Helen Moore; brothers: Woodrow Eilenberger, Carol Eilenberger, William Earl Eilenberger, Mose Eilenberger, and Charlie Eilenberger.
