Obituary for Minnie Jane Brister Minnie Jane Smith Brister, 94, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at her home in Moss Point. She was born August 12, 1924 in Pascagoula. Mrs. Brister enjoyed gardening, sewing and was an avid reader.

She was dedicated to her family and everyone who knew her, loved her. Mrs. Brister was preceded in death by her father and mother, Earnest Paul & Elizabeth Lyons Smith; her loving husband, Chester Lee Brister; son, Richard Moore; daughter, Delores Clark and five brothers, Terrill Smith, Paul Smith, Herman Smith, Homer Smith and Ernest Smith. Survivors include her children, Catherine & Hubert Burroughs, Janis & Richard Evans, Margie & Mark Green and Robin & Kim Brister.

Grandchildren, Richard “Ricky” Moore, Jr. (Kathy), Thad Burroughs (Lisa), Chad Burroughs (Shonna), Kesha Howell (Paul), Brad Burroughs, Ladd Burroughs (Jamie), Lance Clark (Casie), Dustin Brentz (Erin), Charis Lollar (Paul), Kaitlyn Nygaard (Micah), Jennifer Spiriti (Anthony), Douglas Green (Kelly), Miranda Gould (Tim), Lorelei Stevison (Jamie), Nick Brister (Heather) and Jarrin Brister (Heather); Twenty-Four Great-Grandchildren; Fourteen Great-Great Grandchildren; a Devoted Niece, Marion Gaye Lofton; Devoted Sister-in-Law, Anna Marie Smith; and numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 12:00 until 2:00pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home with Chaplain, Pete Smith officiating.

Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Moss Point. Serving as pallbearers will be Thad Burroughs, Chad Burroughs, Brad Burroughs, Ladd Burroughs, Ricky Moore, Lance Clark, Dustin Brentz, Douglas Green, Nick Brister and Jarrin Brister. The family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Light for their special care and dedication to Mrs. Minnie and her family.
