Minnie W. Degnitz, 101, of Fillmore, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. Minnie was born on June 12, 1917, the daughter of the late Heinrich and Babette (nee Pickelmann) Koenig. On August 28, 1937, she was united in marriage to Richard Degnitz at St. Martins United Church of Christ in Fillmore.

Richard preceded Minnie in death on March 27, 2008. Minnie was a bus driver for 28 years at Degnitz School Bus in Random Lake and also worked at Engerkress and Power Products. She was on the executive board of Pathways of Light in Kiel and she volunteered for Interfaith Caregivers.

Minnie was very active in the Saxonia House in Fillmore. Those Minnie leaves behind include her children, Evelyn Wolff of West Bend and James (Nancy) Degnitz; six grandchildren, Kurt, Jeff, Todd, Andrew, Jennifer, and Daniel; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and grand-dog, Captain. In addition to her husband and parents, Minnie was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gerald Wolff; a granddaughter, Faith Degnitz; a brother, Adolph Koenig; and three sisters, Emily Triebe, Louise Ratzel, and Betty Erdman.

A celebration of life for Minnie will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice is appreciated. Minnie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Samaritan Rehabilitation and Assisted Living and to the Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Home staff.
