Red (Herbert) Habersetzer, age 80 years, of West Bend found peace on October 10, 2018 at Samaritan Center surrounded by his loving family. Red was born on August 29, 1938 in Milwaukee to Lucian and Sylvia Habersetzer (Kwiatkowski). On August 29, 1970, Red was united in marriage to Sandy Kohn at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Saukville.

Red graduated from High School in Milwaukee. He retired from Gruber Tool & Die. Red was a man of many talents.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving, painting, cross-country skiing, listening to classic country music and playing cards. He also liked to travel Up-North to the cottage and especially loved spending time with his family, friends and dogs. Those Red leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Sandy; five children, Tony (Karol) Habersetzer, Bobbi (Scott) Sturkol, Lisa Habersetzer, Heather (Tom) Rogge and Amy (Ben Loose) Gannon; seven grandchildren, Brian, Brent (Michu), Jade, Henry, Morgan, Brooklyn and Eme; three step-granddaughters, Jessica (Steve), Kourtney and Andrea (Brad); and two great-grandchildren, Maeli and Ilayna; three step-great-grandchildren, Maddy, Emma, and Jameson; and special friends, Mutt (Brenda Rafko) Allen.

Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Red was preceded in death by his son, Steven Habersetzer. Funeral Service for Red will be held at 6 pm on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Myrhum Patten Miller Kietzer Funeral Home (1315 W Washington St. – West Bend, WI 53095).

Interment at Saukville Union Cemetery. Red’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 pm until the time of service. Memorials to Southeastern Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association – indicate Team Habersetzer in memo line (620 S 76th St, Suite 160 – Milwaukee, WI 53214).

Red’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Samaritan Center, especially Nina, Deb, Kourtney and Cathy for the loving care they provided.
