Terrence L. Ludwig, 67, of West Bend found peace on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Samaritan in West Bend. He was born on August 6, 1951 to the late William and Elda (nee Riemer) Ludwig in Dorchester, WI. After graduating from Colby High School he enlisted in the Army National Guard, married, and moved to West Bend.

While raising three children, he worked at the West Bend Company for 10 years and Weasler Engineering for 27. He retired in 2014. In his free time, Terrence enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and watching sports.

He was a fantastic golfer and went as often as he could. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. Those Terrence leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 47 years, Janice Ludwig; three children, Julie (Conrad) Dotzler, Kathy (Wes) Schlafer, and Rick (Courtney Kell) Ludwig; five grandchildren, Zachary Dotzler, Matthew Dotzler, Christian (Katelyn) Ludwig, Jayda Ludwig, and Oaklynn Ludwig; two great-grandchildren, Marley Ludwig and Scarlett Ludwig; a sister, Carol (Jim) Peissig; five brothers, Ronald (Bonnie) Ludwig, Gordon (Dolores) Ludwig, Loren (Karen) Ludwig, Lance (Karen) Ludwig, and Gregory (Betsy) Ludwig; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Ludwig; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Ludwig and Marilyn Prahl; brothers-in-law, Dan Zier and Jeff Grajeck; and his father and mother-in-law, Lea and Merceda Smart. A memorial service in remembrance of Terrence will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at the Samaritan and Allay Hospice for all their compassion, help, and care in Terrence’s final days.
