Obituary of Minnie Hawkins Minnie Marie Hawkins August 29, 1926– September 11, 2018 Bedford- Minnie Marie Hawkins, 92, of Bedford, died at 5:23 am on Monday, September 11, 2018 at Stonebridge Health Campus. Born August 29, 1926 in Henryville, IN, she was the daughter of Allen Coombs and Mary Bolly. She married Willis Wayne Hawkins on December 10, 1944, and he preceded her in death on February 21, 2011.

She graduated from Henryville High School, was a housewife and a homemaker. Minnie was a wonderful Godly woman, full of laughter and love, and enjoyed doing things with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and with her church. Survivors include one son, Kent Hawkins; two grandchildren, Justin Allen Hawkins and his wife Shauna, and Misty Dawn Johnson and her husband Dustin, all of Bedford; four great-grandchildren, Trace Allen and Lane Roger Hawkins, Jeslyn Kay and Dalton Wayne Johnson; several nieces and nephews.

The last of her family, preceding her in death include her parents; husband, Willis Wayne Hawkins; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Kay Hawkins; one sister, Mary Bright; five brothers, Charles, Frank, Joe, Glen, and Earl Coombs. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 14th at Hillcrest Christian Church with Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the hour of service at Hillcrest Christian Church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Minnie to the Hillcrest Christian Church building fund.
