Miriam Ward, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Elmore, Ohio, on January 2, 2019. She was born in Forest, Ohio, to Clero and Ethel Tong. She married Edwin on August 19, 1950 and he passed away in 1996.

Miriam retired from JCPenney. Surviving are her sisters, Mary Hoppe, Margaret Price, son, Gregg Ward (Chris) and daughter, Susan Deitemyer (Tom). She and Ed travelled to England, Italy and throughout the United States. These trips were often by car or pulling a camper, much to the chagrin of their children. Miriam’s life was full of friends, young and old.

Her “coffee girls” would meet for lunch or shopping after getting their hair done at Cuttin’ Loose At Lori Jo’s. A memorial service will be held for Miriam at 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2019, at Woodville United Methodist Church. Burial will be private in Westwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be given to Woodville United Methodist Church, 201 W. First St., Woodville, OH 43469; or Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 3425 Executive Pkwy. #206, Toledo, OH 43606. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa has assisted with arrangements.
