Obituary for Mother Inez “Polly” Mahone Berry Mother Inez M. Berry, the daughter of Alex Mahone and Laura Tarbert Mahone was born February 16, 1937 in Columbus, Georgia. At an early age, Inez confessed her love for God and joined Fitten Chapel AME Zion Church in Opelika, Alabama and later joined Auburn AME Zion Church in Auburn, Alabama. She attended one house school in Columbus, Georgia and Opelika and later the County school in Auburn, Alabama.

Mother Berry was joined in holy matrimony June 16, 1958 to Mr. Oscar L. Berry, Sr., and to this union twelve children were born. The family relocated to Mt. Dora, Florida in 1972 where she served faithfully as a Choir Member, Fifth Sunday Church School Secretary and Mother of Triumph The Brotherhood Church under the leadership of Pastor Priest M.A. Summers.

She worked as a housekeeper and always willing to help others. On July 22, 2018, God saw fit to transition Mother Inez Berry from her earthly home to her final resting place with Him. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar L. Berry, Sr.; infant daughter, Caroline Berry; parents, Alex Mahone and Laura Tarbert Mahone; brother, Alex Mahone, Jr.; sisters, Catherine Mahone and Shirley Sease; grandson, Curtis Tyrone Berry.

Her memories will be forever cherished by: six sons, Alford L. Berry (Jennipher) of Marshfield, Missouri, Michael J. Berry (Brenda) of Mt. Dora, Florida, Richard E. Berry, (Candi) of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Oscar L. Berry, Jr., (Annie) of Mt. Dora, Florida, Curtis L. Berry of Eustis, Florida, Jeffery C. Berry (Tangie) of Leesburg, Florida; five daughters, Susie L. Berry of Mt.

Dora, Florida, Cynthia D. Berry of Tampa, Florida, Connie R. Williams (Alphonso) of Tavares, Florida, Linda M. Brown (Keith) of Palm Harbor, Florida and Gwendolyn F. Bostic (James) of Tampa, Florida; sister, Lenora Tarbert of Auburn, Alabama; sister-in-law, Cecilia Mahone of New Port Richey, Florida; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
