Nanette Olson of Dubuque, Iowa, age 61, passed away June 27, 2018 after a long illness. She was born on July 14, 1956, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the youngest of seven children. She attended Southwest Technical Institute in Fennimore, Wisconsin for a food service program.

She received her LPN degree in Houston, Texas, and worked as a nurse in Florida before returning to Dubuque as a nurse. Nanette was active at the Kingdom Hall in Dubuque, and she enjoyed attending conventions with the church. She loved arts and crafts, as well as travel.

She is survived by her beloved son, Michael, 34, of Dubuque. She is also survived by three brothers, Noel (Marlena) of Valrico, Florida, Curtis (Janice) of Largo, Florida, and Kevin (Gail) of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nanette was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Olson, her brother Michael Olson, her sister Cleo (Hubert Heins), and her sister Chloe (Robert) Birkett.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Leonard Funeral Home, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, Iowa 52003, with a memorial service following at 3 p.m. Private burial will follow at a later date.
