Obituary for Nannette Thomas Nannette Bruce Ridge Thomas was born to Thomas W. Bruce and Dena (Best) Bruce on September 13, 1929 in Oklahoma City, OK. She went to her heavenly home on June 12, 2018, at the age of 88. Nan was a charter member of Valley Christian Church of Pauls Valley.

She was a homemaker during her family’s early years, living in Pauls Valley and Ada. Moving back to Pauls Valley in 1967, she joined her parents in the operation of their business Shumate’s Dept. Store.

From 1981-1992, she became the Court Clerk for the Pauls Valley Police Dept. This was the joy of her life, being den mother “Bammer” to her boys and girls in blue. Even in her later years she would speak of them often and memorable things that had happened during this time.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Thomas William Ridge Thomas; and two great-granddaughters Rilee and Katelyn Hoyle. She is survived by her daughter Nancy and husband Ed Hoyle of Pauls Valley; granddaughter Kara Hoyle of Pauls Valley; grandson Cliff and wife Bonnie Hoyle of Moore; granddaughter Tracey and husband Craig Hensley of Troy, AL; great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Kelsey Coon of Pauls Valley; Abigail and Savannah Hoyle of Moore; Whitney and husband Jason Barron of Troy, AL; Tanner and wife Jessie Hensley of Copperas Cove, TX; and great-greats Landon and Chandler Barron of Troy, AL. The family requests any memorials be directed to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
