Ned R. Fertig, 89, went to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 18, 2018. He was born October 21, 1929 in Sunbury, PA. and was a Elyria resident for most of his life.

Ned was employed as a machinist at Bendix-Westinghouse for 30 years, served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a longtime member of the Elyria First Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Love (nee-Travers); daughter, Kim (Edward) Belcher; son, Ned R. (Michelle) Fertig II; grandchildren, Brian, Lindsey, Kevin (Kari) and Eric; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Rylie, Sean, Jayden, Alexa, Cameron, Caleb and Aubri.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alva, Millie and Reda and a brother, Dennis. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday December 26, 2018 at the Elyria First Baptist Church 11400 LaGrange Rd. , Elyria, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of services.

Pastor Craig Golden will Officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Christian School 11400 LaGrange Rd.
