Neil Tyra March 08, 1978 – January 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Dorsey – Preston “Neil” Tyra, 40, died Monday, January 28, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center surrounded by his family. A Tupelo native, he was born March 8, 1978 to Gary Tyra and Emily Kay Warner. Neil was raised in Tupelo and attended Tupelo Public Schools.

Until disability he had been employed in the furniture industry for a number of years. Neil loved to fish, camp and build bonfires. He was a man of many friends who enjoyed spending time with them and his family.

Walking his dog, Buster, was one of his favorite pastimes. He was a member of Ballardsville Baptist Church. Survivors include his two sons, Ty Holt Tyra of Kentucky and Jordan Lee Tyra of Smithville; his mother, Emily Kay Warner and her husband, Todd of the Dorsey Community; girlfriend, Jackie Whitmon of Dorsey; two brothers, Matt Tyra and Wesley Tyra both of the Longview Community; his grandmother, Vera Wallace of Dorsey; grandmother, Jane Warner of Cedartown, Georgia and Kay Sennett of Wichita, Kansas; her aunts, Jennifer Hatch and her husband, Michael of Cedartown, Georgia; Julia Smith of Cave Creek, Arizona, Rita Edwards and her husband, Bobby of Tupelo, Nelda Tooke of Tupelo, Cindy Allen and her husband, Jesse of Dorsey, Vicki Nastom of Tupelo, Jill Lowe and her husband, Jay of Atlanta, Georgia, Lisa Fletcher and her husband, Tim of Georgia, Susan Sennett and her husband, Scott of Wichita, Kansas and Barbara Tackett of Saucier; uncles, Danny Tackett (Patti) of Gulfport, Garry Wallace of Fulton and Andy Wallace and his wife, Becky of Birmingham, Alabama; step-mother, Pam Tyra of Longview; sister-in-law, Victoria Tyra of Longview; a host of neices and nephews; and his little dog, Buster.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Tyra; grandfathers, Blair Warner, James Tackett Rabon Tyra and Billy Wallace; grandmothers, Kathleen Tackett and Maudie Tyra; uncles, Sam Hughes and Randy Tyra; and ex-wife, Sherry Tyra. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, Tupelo with Rev.

Frank Panzrino officiating. Burial will follow in Fawn Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jordan Tyra, Danny Tackett, Andy Wallace, Garry Wallace, Charlie Gray and Brandon Gray.
