She was born on August 24, 1920, in Cane Valley, Adair County, Kentucky. Nell’s mother would relate the story that Nell was born on “the hottest day God ever made”.

She was a TV Aide and the guidance counselor’s secretary at Fern Creek High School, a charter member of the Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society, a member of Middletown Christian Church, the John Marshall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and Fern Creek Woman’s Club. The love and comfort of many of her friends and family surrounded Nell at her passing. The family especially would like to thank the special ladies who cared for Nell: Carol Muncy, Cindy Erickson, Marty Kraft, and Shannon Erickson.

Special love is sent to Nell’s grand daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Beth Noble, MD USAF (Ret) and Grandson, Mathew Noble MD, for their around the clock care during Nell’s final hours.

For almost sixty years, Nell enjoyed the friendship and support of all her Fern Creek neighbors, especially Bill and Bettye Anderson and their families. Nell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Leonard M. Noble and her youngest son, David M. Noble, who passed away in 2017. Nell is survived by sons, Douglas Noble (Helene) and Dr. Ryan Noble (Linda); grandchildren, Matthew Noble (Beth), Amy Crowe (Gary), Cate Ward (Greg), and Ross Noble (Karen); and great-grandchildren, Liam Noble, Martha Noble, Abi Crowe, Holly Crowe, and Libby Ward.

There are also six nieces and one nephew who will miss their Aunt Nell. The funeral will be at 2 pm on Thursday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Visitation will take place from 12 pm until the time of the service.

There will be no graveside service. The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of support to Middletown Christian Church, 500 Watterson Trail, Louisville, KY 40243.
