Norene E. Wuest, of Sheboygan, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home. She was 84 years old. Norene was born November 17, 1933 in West Allis, the daughter of Ludwig and Emily (nee Topol) Menningen.

She graduated from Central High School and went on to attend Taylor University in Illinois where she became a Registered Nurse. Wuest in Sheboygan.

Shortly after their wedding, the couple moved to Lima, Peru to start a long career as Christian missionaries. Norene and Charles dedicated their lives to mission work, traveling throughout Central and South America where they served God and the local people. The couple were supported by their home church, the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church, their entire missionary career.

Norene passionately studied God’s Word her entire life, leading Bible studies and demonstrating His love to others. Norene was also an avid reader, bird watcher, gardener and cherished time spent with her family. Norene is survived by her daughter Melody (Nicholas McNutt) Wuest of Sheboygan and her grandchildren: Keane, Ethan, Tristan and Elle Schmidt.

She is further survived by her great-granddaughter Kinleigh Schmidt, brothers Lee (Barbara) Menningen of MD and Ronald (Patricia) Menningen of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles and son Jonathan Wuest. Funeral Services celebrating Norene’s life will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th Street in Sheboygan.

Rev. Dave Van Dixhorn will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 3:00-4:00PM.

Norene will be laid to rest beside Charles at Arlington Park Cemetery in Greenfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Compassion International. Please visit www.
