Obituary for Norma Parker Padovani Sellers Norma Sellers, 91, of Marietta, GA, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 28, at 2:00 p.m., at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory, Historic Marietta Chapel, with Dr. Tom Davis officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. prior to service.
Burial immediately following service at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park on Dallas Highway in Marietta, GA. Norma is survived by her husband, Harry Sellers of Marietta, GA, her daughters, Lyric Ogden of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Priscilla Lyle (Fred), of Hilton Head, SC and Larisa Scarbrough (Clint) of Powder Springs, GA, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Joyce England of Jacksonville, FL, and Myrna Whatley of Tucker, GA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Irma and Hermon Parker, two brothers, Eddie and Bobby Parker and one sister, Evelyn Holton Price. Norma attended Kingsberry Grammar School, Maddox High School and Girls High School where she participated in a variety of activities including Glee Club and skating. She also took ballroom dancing classes and belonged to Square Dance Clubs.
That’s when her lifelong love of dancing began. She eventually took Line Dancing classes at church where she met Harry, her husband of over 21 years. She worked at various places through the years including Simmons Company and Georgia Power Company.
Norma excelled in anything to do with sales and people. As an entrepreneur, she started “Norma The Stamp Lady” and won many awards for her accomplishments. Norma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Her smile and personality would light up a room. She had a beautiful voice and participated in glee club and church singings through the years. In addition, she was an excellent cook and seamstress.
