Norman Lemmer, 85, died Saturday July 28, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 21, 1933 in Edgar, WI, to the late Aloys and Frances (Hornung) Lemmer. On April 19, 1958, he married Mary Ann Schantz at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Mosinee and they celebrated their 60th anniversary this year.

Norman served 2 years in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1958. He worked for Pauly Cheese Co., Marco Co-op while also farming. He was preceded in death by an infant son Michael in 1963. Ten grandchildren, Melissa (Cory) Gladden, Sarah (Ram) Sanchez, Matthew (Alisha) Lemmer, Michael (Aimee) Lemmer, Jaclyn (Shane) Kauzlaric, Christopher Lemmer, Benjamin (Kaitlyn) Lemmer, Mallory (Nick) Halpin, Cydney Williams, Jessica Schulrud (Autumn). Five great grandchildren Raina, Maxwell, Norman, Lila and Henry.

He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of two more great grandchildren in the coming months. As member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church he often served as hospitality minister, lector and money counter. Norman also served as conductor and a District Secretary for 17 years for the Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Leo’s Court #795, Marathon.

He enjoyed going to the EAA Air Show with his sons, fishing, playing cards, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, listening to polka music, traveling and reading the bible. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic, Marathon. Visitation will be from 10am to noon at the church.

Rev. Msgr Joseph Diermeier will preside. Private graveside services will be held.
