Obituary for Normand J. Petit Normand J. Petit, 90, of East Berlin, husband of Jeanne (Tiezzi) Petit, passed away Sunday (November 18, 2018) at Apple Rehab of Middletown. Born in Fall River, MA, son of the late George and Eva Petit, he lived in East Berlin since 1993. Normand attended Bryant College in Rhode Island and was a divisional manager for General Cinema Theaters, retiring in 1991.

He was an avid reader and longtime volunteer at the Berlin Peck Memorial Library for 18 years, where he pioneered the library’s used book sale, sharing his love of reading with it’s many visitors. Besides his loving wife Jeanne, he leaves a sister, Georgette Brisson and her husband Ernest of Maryland; his in-laws, Benjamin and Lydia Tiezzi of Middlefield; a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Charles Mowel of Middletown; brother-in-law, Daniel Tiezzi and his wife Anna of Higganum; brother-in-law, Michael Tiezzi and his companion Teri Winkel of Cheshire; a sister-in-law, Anna Petit of Swansea, MA. Also surviving are many special nieces and nephews, as well as a host of caring neighborhood friends.

Normand was predeceased by two brothers, Roger Petit and George “Maurice” Petit. Calling hours will be held Saturday (Novemmber 24) 11 AM to 1 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden.
