Obituary for Onofra Sanchez 1939-2018 Onofra Sanchez, age 79, went home to her eternal home to be with Our Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Onnie, as she was known to many, was born and raised in Los Chavez and was a resident of Belen all her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Onnie was a very generous, loving, kind, caring and compassionate woman. She enjoyed spending time at the casino and playing bingo and word search puzzles. Onnie will be missed by so many people who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Sanchez, her parents Elauterio and Sofia Chavez, her brothers George, Raymond and Felix Chavez, her sister Virginia Alderete and several nieces and nephews. Onnie is survived by her brother, Tommy Chavez, her children; Adela Sanchez and fiancé Anthony Torres, Pablo Sanchez (Judy), Dolores Chavez (Gene), her seven loving grandchildren; Angela Barela (Matt), Bobby Sanchez (Nicole, Monica Otero (Derrick), Melissa Chavez (Max), Anthony Sanchez (Clara), Arlene Costanza (John), Daniel (Elizabeth), 19 loving great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Belen Meadows for the love and care they provided for Onnie.

All services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, with a Viewing/Visitation beginning at 9:00 AM, a rosary at 10:00 AM and a Funeral Mass to be recited at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Bobby and Anthony Sanchez, Daniel Chavez, Jerrick Otero, Dominick Chavez and Alex Gonzales. Honorary Pallbearers will be Erik Gonzales, Micah Otero, Bobby Sanchez, Jr. and Matthew Barela.
