Obituary for Elfida S. Pino Elfida “Elfie” S. Pino peacefully went to be with her Lord on July 26, 2018. Elfie was a lifelong resident of Valencia County, living the majority of her life in Bosque, and most recently in Belen. Elfie is preceded in passing to glory by her loving husband Premetivo Pino, her parents Ynes and Mercedes Salas, her brothers Jose T. Salas, Rogerio Salas, Ted Salas, Baby brother Salas, and her sisters Beatrice Baca and Lydia Barajas.

She is survived by her loving children; son Christopher Pino, daughter Anna Sanchez and husband Delbert, and her granddaughter and pride and joy, DeeAnn Sanchez. She is also survived by and will be missed by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Elfie worked many years for the Belen Public Schools as both a cook and cafeteria manager.

She enjoyed her job and would always talk so fondly about the children that she would spoil, and the friends that she had made. Elfie was a devoted mother and “nana,” always so extremely proud of her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Rio Grande Estates Fire Department Auxiliary.

She was a beautiful and vibrant person whose smile and laughter could light up a room. She will be greatly missed. Services for Elfie will be held on August 1, 2018, beginning with a visitation at 10 A.M. at the Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.

A rosary will be recited at 11, with funeral mass to follow. Internment will take place at the Cristo Rey Cemetary in Bosque, NM immediately following. Please contact Romero Funeral Home for any further information.
