Orvetta Faith Shelley, 67, of Danville, passed away at 10:53 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at North Logan Healthcare. She was born November 28, 1950 in Joliet, IL to the late Orville Decker and Marian Cooprider. She married Bob Henderson in 1968 and they had two children.
She then married Brian R. Shelley in 1989, he preceded her in death October 11, 2016. She is survived by two daughters; Paige Bishop and Amy (Frank Pickering) Stinespring both of Westville; her grandchildren; Alysa (Jesse Wright) Weymuth of Raleigh, NC, Kaitlyn Henderson of Westville, Kegan Weymuth of Westville, Logan Bishop, Camren and Chloe Stinespring of Westville; four sisters; Pamela (Jim) Jameson of Tilton, Robin (Jack) Shouse of Danville, Valarie (Paul) Frazier of Westville and Melanie (Mike) Dillavou of Mahomet. She was also preceded in death by a brother; Paul Hempen, a sister; Melody Douglass, brother-in-law, Tim Brooks, Kyle Brooks and William Welsch.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Mark (Kim) Sells, Heather (Marcelo) Ledesma, Shannon Trosper, Ryan (Jodi Harrier) Trosper, Jessica (Ryan) Welsch, Allison (Kaleb) Carter, Hayley Cooprider, Joshua (Angela) Cooprider, Michael (Cera Layaou) Douglass, Carley Cooprider, Brandon Brooks, Colton and Taylor Dillavou; great-nieces and great-nephews; Cheyenne (Sean Wallace) Coulter, Lakota (Josh Martin) Sells, Abby Sells, Jonathan Leno, Isabella, Hannah and Julian Ledesma, Destini (Jordan) Flint, Brooke Lemon, Delaney and Emma Sandlin, Dempsey Wyman, Austin Welsch, Elin and Avery Carter, Nevin, Julia and Joshua Cooprider, Jr., Landen, Gianna, Azalea and Noah Douglass; great-great-nieces and nephews; Bentley and Royce Wallace, Ellakie Martin, Lola and Lennox Flint, Brytney, Ashylee, Cristofer and Cameron Harrier, Arayah Taylor, and Case Douglas. Orvetta worked at various jobs during her lifetime. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and WELCA, serving in many different capacities.
She enjoyed her yard, garden and flowers, mushrooming, bingo, and helping with Food for Children Backpack Program, but she loved cooking for her very large family, whom she adored. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Edward Stone officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church. Rortvedt Funeral Services & Crematory in Tilton is assisting the family.
