Obituary for Orville E Barber (Mansfield) Orville Edward Barber, son of Orville and Viona Barber, was born July 28, 1955 in Mansfield, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 63 years, 2 months, and 22 days. On June 30, 1977 he united in marriage to Donna Sue Thompson and to this union two children were born. After losing his wife of 38 years in 2015, Ed married Sharon Kaye Lovelady on January 26, 2018.

He is proceeded in death by his wife Donna, his parents, his in-laws Melvin and Marie Thompson, niece Carol Henry, and nephew Dale Farris. Ed is survived by his wife Kaye, daughter Rachel Salsig & husband Zachary, Lee Barber and wife Julia, step-son Nicolas Bray and wife Kelsi; four grandchildren, Libby & Luke Barber, Hayleigh & Emma Salsig; six step-grandchildren, Avery, Cael, Jordan, Chase, Chaylee, Jett Bray; mother-in-law Dorothy Lovelady; three sisters, Cathy Easley and husband Charlie, Karen Weddle and husband Wayne, Patty Farris and husband Willie; sister-in-law Debbie Clement and husband Jerry; four brother-in-law, Tommy Thompson, Mike Thompson and wife Betty, David Thompson and wife Jane, Danny Thompson and wife Diana as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. After joining the US Army February 27, 1979, Ed retired as Staff Sargent after 19 years of serving his country.

During this time, he was a veteran of Desert Storm. Upon his retirement from the US Army as a Motor Transport Operator, Ed then drove coast to coast as an over the road truckdriver. This was a passion of his that he continued to do up until his final days.

When he was home, Ed loved to spend time with his family and helping others. Ed was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will always cherish the many memories that were made together.
