September 8, 2018 Pamela D. Rossi ORANGE- Pamela Diane (Cox) Rossi, 65, was born on May 7, 1953 in Athol to the late Russell D. Cox and Virginia (Tremethick) Cox, passed away peacefully September 7, 2018 at her home in Orange, where she was in hospice care after a courageous fight with ovarian cancer. Pam spent her entire life in Orange. She attended Dexter Park Elementary School, Butterfield School and graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in 1971.

Pam begun working for Erving Paper Mill in 1971 and continued that employment until 1991. In 1973, she earned an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Greenfield Community College, and a BA degree in Physical Therapy from Becker College in 1974. Pam married Jay Rossi from Orange on September 20, 1986.

In 1994, she went to work as a Physical Therapist at Burbak Hospital and in 1995 she went to work at Heywood Hospital, retiring from there in 2016. While growing up, she played flute, was a Brownie, Girl Scout and an avid swimmer. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing crafts, knitting, and crocheting.

She donated many of her knitted and sewn items to local charities and churches in the area regularly. Pam loved country music, gardening and attending outings and dinners at the Orange Gun Club. Pam and Jay loved to explore New Hampshire, Maine and especially hiking inVermont during the autumn months.

Her life-long friends, Terry, Angie and Luanne, were always close by. Pam is survived by her husband, Jay; a brother, Brian Cox (Nancy); many nephews and nieces; sisters in law, Marty (Woody) and Melinda (Wynn); along with many friends and co workers. Pam was predeceased by her father on January 8, 2016 and by her mother on April 13, 1999.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday September 15th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
