Mrs. Pansy Kirby Cantey, 79, wife of Ronald O. Cantey, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, in the Presbyterian Home of South Carolina, after an illness, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Faith Holiness Church, Scranton, with burial to follow in Lake City Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, July 20, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.

Mrs. Cantey was born on May 18, 1939, in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late Willie P. Kirby and Emmie Geddings Kirby. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and was a retired retail manager. Mrs. Cantey was a member of Faith Holiness Church, where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary, the church choir and the church nursery.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Ronald O. Cantey, of Lake City; children, Ronald Clifton (Faye) Cantey and Rhonda Cantey Lockamy, both of Lake City, Scott O. (Tammy) Cantey of Coward; grandchildren, Alton Davis, Shawn Lockamy, Matt Lockamy, Clifton Cantey, Heather Filyaw, Lance (Whitley) Weatherford, Kacey Cantey and Dustin (Jennifer) Powell; eight great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; brother, Carrol (Jackie) Kirby; and her beloved Boykin, Boy. Mrs. Cantey was preceded in death by a grandson, Mason Powell; and brothers, J.D. Kirby and Bill Kirby.
