James Marion Lynch, 83, husband of the late Bernice Lee Lynch, died Monday, July 9, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Matthews Cemetery, Coward. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the funeral home.

Mr. Lynch was born November 22, 1934 in Florence County, son of the late Joe S. Lynch and Ruth Miles Lynch. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of God of Prophecy and retired from Vulcraft after 34 years. Mr. Lynch was a devoted Christian man, loving husband, father, grandfather and an avid Gamecock fan.

Surviving are his sons, Richard “Ricky” Lynch of Scranton and Chris (Crystal) Lynch of Lowell, NC; granddaughter, Madison Lynch; sister-in-law, Mattie Lee of Scranton; and brothers-in-law, Eulon Lee, Jr. of Montgomery, AL and Samuel “Sammy” Lee of Scranton. Mr. Lynch was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Cecil Lynch, Willie Joe Lynch and Gene Lynch; and sisters, Edith L. Mims and Eldera L. Carraway. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Annie, Gwen, Meronica and Tye for their care and concern during this time.
