Pastor Ella’s Obituary Pastor Ella Mae Ellis-Murphy, age 75, of 1510 Spruce Street, Greenville, NC died Thursday May 9, 2019. Funeral service will be held Friday May 17, 2019 11:00am at Zion Chapel FWB Church. Address: 377 Planters Street, Ayden, NC 28513 Burial will follow in Homestead Memorial Gardens in Greenville, NC.

Pastor Murphy was born in Pitt County. Pastor Murphy retired from Vidant Medical Center and was the pastor and founder of Mount Zion Holy Church Inc She also owned G M Fashions and Things in Ayden, NC.

Pastor Murphy is survived by five daughters, Laurice Brame of Bowie, MD, Venetia Gillespie of Winterville, NC, Elder Cora Battle of Ayden, NC, Addie Murphy-Moye and Kathy Boykin both of Greenville, NC; five sons, Elder Wilbert Ellis of Winterville, NC, Thomas Ellis of Ayden, NC, Michael Murphy, Samuel Murphy Jr and Jimmy Murphy all of Greenville, NC; one brother, Robert Ellis of Temple Hill, MD; three sisters, Esther Ormond, Betty Langley and Lillie Long all of Greenville, NC; twenty-nine grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held Thursday May 16, 2019 6:00pm-8:00pm at Mount Zion Church Holy Church Inc.
